In seventh grade we had to make a leaf collection. Fifty varietal minimum in order to get an A. I remember doggedly searching the metro area, trying to reach my magic fifty.  Now I can traipse leisurely, snap a photo, and leave the earth undisturbed, allowing nature to take her inevitable course. I simply enjoy the leaves. And, in considering each leaf, isn't there one to turn over in our own hearts this time of year? That is the beauty  and mystery of the beloved season of autumn...
